I love going to museums and even though I like all forms of art, even I struggle sometimes. When I see art and I immediately feel something or my imagination flurries in different interpretations. I feel energized and inspired. I feel that all art, whether one understands it or not, affects you in different ways subconsciously. That last photo looks like it could be a HNW in the future.

Maybe you need to be stoned to understand them When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro. The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

My tastes are pretty traditional too, although as you said, it can help to have a guide who clues you in on a deeper interpretation. You’ve reminded me that I should look into doing some docent tours again at our local art museum, now that things are opening up again.

It is fascinating to look at the history of art and forms of art: from Ancient Greece, to the Renaissance, to the modern and post-modern. I am a believer that art influences consciousness, on a profound level. I have been thinking of this a lot, lately, like... Perrenialism vs Iconoclasm, the traditional vs the innovative, and the spectrum of this bridge, between the two, pertaining to writing. I have been writing a lot, lately... Oh... I really love talking about this stuff... Super, I think your taste in art is exquisite. And you, are exquisite. *. *. *

I'm not a modern art lover myself. Eve is beautiful and the bunny figures are intriguing. I would make up a silly story to explain their postures, LOL.

They are all beautiful sculpture. Art is interpretative...we see what we see based on our experience/ life/conscious. As they say, ' in the eye of the beholder' . Thanks for sharing these~

Sometimes I struggle to fathom what's in the artist's mind but that's part of the fun of art. A few artists are now selling nothing as a work of art!

I think art would be boring if everyone saw exactly the same thing. Even masterpieces like the Mona Lisa can be viewed and interpreted differently. I am blessed to live in a city that has a world class Art Gallery and Museum. Each time I visit them, I pick up on different nuances of the displays.

Depending on your point of view, I'm either too much of a realist, or too shallow, the do much interpretation of art. But "Torso of Summer" I get, and the and rabbit figures are amusing. What a fun place to walk around! There's a sculpture garden not too far away in NJ that I plan to visit when it cools down a bit... I hope to see some like that last pic!!!!!

I know what I like and I like what I see. The Torso and Eve works best for me.

Looks like a good wee wander McB, even if some of the art is a bit annoying(?) We have these pop-up sculptures everywhere in Edin, some good, some not so good, some absolutely captivating.

And nor am I knowledgeable enough to understand the difference between 'good' and 'bad'. There are some pieces that really appeal, there are others that, while I can appreciate the skill in the creation, I just don't understand, so they kinda irritate me.......does that make sense? And then there are others that just seem daft (eg Tracy Emin's empty bed sculpture, which is well beyond my meagre abilities in artistic appreciation!)
