Valentines Day. When all the chocolate, flowers, and pretty things go on sale. Not that there were many heart shaped boxes of chocolate for sale at my local Mini-mart. Those that were for sale were way over priced. The flowers, over priced as well, sitting in their big buckets of standing water didn't last through the weekend. On Sunday last they were already wilting due to the cold snap that hit us. No way to keep fresh cut flowers really, they are pretty much already gone the moment you cut them. It seems a waste to destroy something so beautiful just for one day in the year. Better they live on in their green houses then end up on the trash pile never being sold.

I spent my Valentines Day getting a unit ready for move in. One, that was listed on the board as a move in A.S.A.P. Meaning that when we got it done and ready the tenant would have been told that it was done and ready for them to actually move in. As it was the tenant showed up last Friday, after business hours expecting to move in. Hence the rush to get it done yesterday. I don't know what happened, a miscommunication with the incoming tenant or what? But it was all hands on deck to get the place ready ( it needed everything aside from painting ) to get it done by the end of the business day. All day long I was freezing my buns off in there ( the electric baseboard heat wasn't working in some of the rooms ) as guys came in an out of the unit leaving the doors open doing their work. By the time I went home last night I was frozen stiff, I just couldn't get warm for love or money. Tired, sore ( from moving new kitchens appliances in from another unit a block away ) and cold I had some dinner and went to bed early. Real early, we're talking the nightly national news cast had just ended early.

So, that was my Valentines Day.. As usual no hearts ,or flowers, no chocolates just me cold and tired snuggling under my blankets and quilts in bed trying to warm up. Ah, February fifteenth ..a day when all that over priced candy goes on sale at fifty percent off for all of us single folk.

Off to shower now...I'm still a bit chilly here.....
