This New Thing I have been looking at the new beta Community for blogs this morning to see what everyone is talking about. I am not sure how they can see addresses and such, as some have mentioned. The layout seems a bit cartoon-y in my opinion. They still have the programming glitches in punctuation and symbols, etc. Definitely photo-rich as far as content goes. [C'est le vie! As the world goes, so do we?] I prefer words to pictures, myself. As another blogger pointed out, we of the Boomer Generation have a much harder time accepting change than others. And now it is about LEVELS instead of points?? I feel like I am in a Martial Arts training. "Ah, lil Grasshopper, if you can steal the yoni egg from my hand you will have arrived!"ÃÂÃÂ "Too slow!!! "ÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂ  My only concerns are the cries of a lack of privacy. How is that an issue, exactly? Can others see the private comments that get sent in the private mailboxes now? Some have said that addresses get shown?? Seriously? And for those of you considering leaving, where would you end up? I am only on this site, I do not know what other sites to consider if I left and I always like to have options  Please let me know your thoughts below. On the NEW version of the blogs, people can read comments located in the Private Mail Box of every blogger. In some cases they can see both sides of the conversation. If you were aware of the issue, you'd have deleted the obvious comments and hidden those with fragile information. If you have a Private Mail Box over on your blog, click the NEW version to see what's visible. There's another way to look at this. If you leave your front door open, THAT doesn't mean it's an invitation for anyone to walk into your house. We'll all be fine... eventually. That other space seems cramped. You have a couple of options. 1. Go into your NEW blog Mail Box and HIDE every comment you feel is revealing. It's time consuming and a pain in the ass. 2. You can DENY the whole post *three dots in the right-hand-side of your post. Unfortunately, THAT option doesn't seem to be working at the moment. In any case, your current Mail Box will remain unchanged. How much stuff do you think you'll have to remove? 🤔 On the other hand, who cares? The lack of a clear alternative surely explains why so many of us are still here, from even LONG before the community thing came around, and rest assured the site knows they're the only game in town. The new format is one big car crash. It's clearly designed for the smartphone. Nearly everything takes more clicks to get to, which is never good. I always give up after the third click on a website. I recently posted on the new format - see BREAKING NEWS ANDREW ON THE NEW COMMUNITY FORMAT. It contains Andrew Conru's (the site's founder's) views on many issues of concern.

I remember, at first, I kept getting messages from bloggers telling me that everybody can see the comments in my private 'post box'. That was my fault because I forgot you had to use 'respond' and not 'quote'. But now that's not going to work?

I remember agreeing to testing OSX beta. It ran on a second machine while running OS9.9999 on the main machine. Ya. Not fun. Crashes were real. It was easier developing WinDoZe on the Mac than OSX beta. The long and short of it .... I dont do beta. Despite all its asci BS, seriously, why fix what isnt broken? There are a LOT of other things on this site that need attention. And privacy should NEVER require the user to jump through hoops that require t wo hours in the user manual to figure it out. LOL. Everything is joke.
