It's Okay to Lie About?

I wanted to see if there is member consensus on what you can lie about on your profile. When constructing your profile, it's okay to lie about?
How old you are
Your body shape
How big it is (they are-females)
Marital status
Location
None of the above

I have not lied on mine!! But I can see where people may lie about being single when they are married because the other person may not want a married partner!!!

Why bother lying? If you successfully meet and get naked, which is the ultimate goal, your deception will be immediately apparent.

If you don't want to say anything, then don't say ANYTHING.

I would rather leave a bit of info out than lie about it. The "hidden" info would then be revealed to those I deem are worthy of it.

For the reason of identity security I have the wrong D.O.B on my profile, although my age is correct. Other than that, everything else is truthful.

I fudge a bit on location as well and I'm actually younger than my posted age

The age can be altered only if you don't go too far. I haven't lied on mine, but I have met many men who posts pictures from 20 years ago...their hair is dark in the photos and when we meet it's snow white....or they said they were a non smoker and I can smell that they do smoke because their clothes reek.

Also they said they were "separated" but live in the same house....oh BROTHER that's a good one. Anyway, thats why I keep my BS meter on high at all times. I was born at night but NOT last night!

You need a "none of the above".

I think a little fib on the age thing is pretty much the only one. We need to be honest with others about relationship status so others aren't caught up in something else as a third party. And height and weight, if we're meeting them in person they're going to find out anyway.

to me the big one is marital status that is a huge red flag to lie about!!! The others not so much.

Liars are just liars! If they take the liberty to fool others and get caught like all liars eventually do.They have no credibility!Period.

Using more than all the road!

Not that I'm some kind of holier than thou type yet you shouldn't
have to lie here about anything. That said obviously plenty of
married men do yet that's their cross to bear.I wouldn't be one
bit amused to find out somebody I met here had ben lying for
sure, with the one exception being age as I'm not really bothered
about that as I get how some women are with ageism.

I guess you can lie about everything and anything if you never plan on meeting anyone bee cause it you do the lie will be exposed and that just might be the one and only time you see them. And if you lucky the will not Blog about your lie and expose you to more people

I don't understand the whole lie about my age thing, or any of the others for that matter. I am what I am, except me or keep it moving. Someone out there will and I won't have to worry about keeping my story straight. That seems like a lot of wasted energy.

Being discrete forces us to use a different location so people that troll the sight can not put "2 and 2 together" and figure out who we are. There are people out there that have printed off MenNation.com pictures and sent them to the employer and families just to get revenge after being turned down....if that happens to us we will be done swinging and so we protect our privacy. But we do not lie about anything else......

I lie about my age, in a way. I have entered a fake birthday. For part of the year I appear one year older than my actual age.
I never enter my exact date of birth on any website.

I've interacted with men who have lied about all of the things mentioned, and it is extremely disappointing.

I also get annoyed when I find someone that "appears" local, only to find that they have not given their true location. IF they don't want to chance being identified, gy giving their actual city - there is always the option of giving the "general location\', as I do in my profile. If they want to know more, they can always ask.

A LIE is never a good way to start anything - and it diminishes any chance of success, on this site. Who can ever trust a liar? NOT ME.

I recently came across a profile which posted 5 of my pictures - all stolen. I'm 99.99% sure the fake profile was created by my "former photographer friend" who still had my photos on his computer. NONE of the photos had ever been posted by me - except 1 on another profile that was de-activated shortly after i created it.

"He/she" had received many compliments on the photos that were purported to be of the person on the profile. "He/she" also had a large number of friends (more than I have, and I am a long-time blogger and member here.

I found that we had friends in common, and I wrote to all of them - alerting them that the profile was likely fake, and that ALL the photos were stolen, and of me. ! friend wrote back to say she recognized one of them, (the unedited and uncropped original from which my current profile photo was taken), and just thought I had created a 2nd profile.

I WONDER HOW THIS PERSON WAS EVER GOING TO EXPLAIN THAT THEY LOOKED NOTHING LIKE THE PERSON IN THE PHOTOS. I can't imagine the motivation in doing this at all. But we are all aware there are tons of fake profiles on this site - this is carrying it to the extreme, beyond the scenarios mentioned in your poll.

Sorry - this is way off topic - thank you for allowing me to vent.
